The Office of Alumni Relations will be hosting the 2026 Dr. Rudy Lombard '61 Legacy Symposium on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 6:00 PM on the campus of Xavier University of Louisiana. The event will consist of a 30-45 minute panel discussion, followed by a Q&A session led by a distinguished group of 5 leading professionals and 3 students for the evening. The symposium is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM and conclude at 7:30 PM.
Symposium Theme: A Legacy of Justice and Community: Honoring the revolutionary spirit of Rudy Lombard by exploring how his commitment to action and equity at Xavier continues to inspire and shape the modern movement for justice in our communities.
The event will center on the enduring impact of Rudy Lombard, his pivotal role in the Civil Rights movement, his legacy at Xavier, and the ongoing community efforts dedicated to social justice and equity.

We are partnering with Vincent’s Vault to support our XULA International Students who are unable to return home during the holidays due to the political climate by collecting monetary donations. Celebrate 100 Years of Excellence: Xavier University of Louisiana Centennial Gala
As part of its yearlong 100th-anniversary fête, Xavier University of Louisiana will host its Centennial Gala on May 8 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, presented by Ochsner Health. This event will be elegant and joyous and pay homage to a century of excellence and community impact. It will honor the historic legacy and ongoing contributions of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and President Emeritus Dr. Norman C. Francis. Renowned actor and comedian Bill Bellamy will host, R&B/soul legend Jeffrey Osborne will perform, and journalist Bryant Gumbel will bring greetings.
The celebration will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m. The evening will feature exquisite dining, live entertainment, recognition of honorees, and a silent auction.
Join us for what is sure to be an unforgettable New Orleans fête as we commemorate 100 years of excellence and honor those who have shaped our legacy. All proceeds from the gala will support student scholarships.

Dear Xavier Community,
In the wake of the tragic terrorist attack that occurred on Bourbon Street on New Year’s Day, we extend our deepest condolences to all who have been affected. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of innocent lives and the injuries sustained by so many in our beloved city of New Orleans.
As a community rooted in faith, service, and justice, we call upon the Xavier family to come together during this time of sorrow to support one another and to pray for healing and peace. We stand united in rejecting acts of violence and hatred, and we reaffirm our commitment to being agents of change and reconciliation in a world that so desperately needs both.
To our students, faculty, staff, and alumni: please know that we are here to support you. The Office of Campus Ministry will host a candlelight prayer vigil Wednesday, January 15 at 5:00 PM in front of the St. Katharine Drexel Chapel to honor the victims, their families, and the first responders who bravely served in the aftermath of this tragedy. We invite everyone to join us in solidarity and reflection.
Additionally, counseling and pastoral care services are available for anyone in need. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Counseling Center or the Campus Ministry office for support.
Let us remember the words of St. Katharine Drexel:
"Peacefully do at each moment what at the moment ought to be done."
Together, we can work toward peace and justice by supporting one another and living out our shared values. May we find strength in our unity and hope in our faith as we move forward.

This resource, located in St. Michael’s Hall, is for the Xavier community who need the assistance of the food pantry. The purpose of this pantry is to help stamp out food insecurities. There is a growing need of current individuals experiencing periods throughout each month when they run out of food or lack basic personal items.
